The location of the villages of Lichoceves-Noutonice in close proximity to Prague city (10km / 6 miles) and Prague Ruzyne International airport (3km / 2 miles) provided the impetus for this Master Plan. From the outset Emma Curley as part of M Ó LA proposed a future sustainable solution to the development rather than a ‘sleeper town’ approach.
The recognition of Lichoceves-Noutonice as villages embedded in an environmentally diverse and rich agricultural landscape was integral to the response in this Master Plan. Emma Curley proposed a phased development based on an incremental steps to the building of a community, to create a town where green field and built environments, heritage and modernity, and existing and proposed populations co-existed. The existing arable-based landscape was brought into the Master Plan, sensitively binding the built and natural environments.
